This city exudes a friendly neighborhood-style and takes immense pride in the local beaches, the three Marinas, the protected Harbor and a newly renovated Pier. Complete with an old-fashioned fish market, you can purchase fresh fish, crab, oysters, or lobsters and have it cooked to order. The center of the city, "Riviera Village,” is a beautiful shopping area that provides locals an opportunity to eat, shop and visit with friends in the community.
Redondo Beach is divided into two parts, South Redondo and North Redondo. South Redondo the home of the original beach bungalows are slowly being demolished and replaced with modern homes catering to the more affluent buyer. North Redondo, which is primarily inland, has a large community of homeowners that work for the aerospace industry. South Bay Galleria Shopping Center, a major shopping center is located in North Redondo as is the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, one of the South Bay's premier cultural facilities, and home to the Civic Light Opera of the South Bay Cities. |
